5 Trends for Summer 2012

01. SUMMER SOFTENER

For our money, there should be nothing harsh about summer. Our passion is reserved for fabrics that flow with the breeze—and feel so good against our skin. Washed linen, ultra-light cotton knits and beautifully draping Tencel twill should all be part of your must-have wardrobe.

02. NEUTRAL TERRITORY

We feel very strongly about neutrals. We can’t get through the summer without a classic khaki in our closet. Example: our Shock Wash Topper and Silence Wash Joy Pant. A neutral provides the perfect backdrop for the gutsy accessories we love, like our jute & leather belt with tubular ties.

03. COLOR CLUB

This summer, it’s like a coming out party for all your favorite colors. From Azure (shown here) to Rosewater to Saffron, they have a country club feel that we think is perfect for the season. We love them tone-on-tone. But don’t be afraid to mix things up.

04. MODERN TIMES

What is it about black in summer that we find so devastatingly sophisticated? Its defiance in the face of sunny brights? Its innate cool? For whatever reason, nothing seems quite as modern.

Case in point: our Jersey Sleek To The Ankle Dress. It’s simply one long column of elegant black with a zip. And that’s enough.

05. UNEXPECTED PLEASURES

Who cares about rules? It’s summer! And aren’t the joys of summer all the more pleasurable when you don’t expect them? Like pairing our sugary Sequin Blouse with our Leigh Short (seen here). It’s all about thinking beyond the usual. If you love it. Wear it!

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing a lot is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
